SGBC Green Mark Clinic : Green Mark for Residential Buildings: 2016 (GM RB: 2016)

The finalised criteria, “Green Mark for Residential Buildings: 2016” or “GM RB: 2016” for short, is ready for implementation and will supersede the pilot version. In collaboration with BCA, SGBC is organising a Green Mark clinic which will ease SGBC members into the adoption of the new GM RB: 2016 Criteria and be aware of the implementation timeline for this new criteria (13 Nov 2017)

Since the introduction of the BCA Green Mark Scheme in 2005, more than 2700 buildings in Singapore have been greened, covering more than 31% of our buildings. With 17 different Green Mark Schemes that covers buildings, beyond buildings and occupant-centric schemes, we are well on our way to achieving the goal of greening 80% of all buildings in Singapore by 2030.

The Green Mark Criteria for New Buildings (GM Version 4.1) currently in use was last reviewed in 2012. In September 2016, BCA released a pilot version of the Green Mark Criteria for New Residential Buildings for trials and public review over a period of 12 months. The pilot criteria was drafted with extensive industry consultation involving more than 150 experts from various industry taskforces and the academia.

The finalised criteria, “Green Mark for Residential Buildings: 2016” or “GM RB: 2016” for short, is ready for implementation and will supersede the pilot version.

The finalised criteria is now available for viewing through the following URL: https://www.bca.gov.sg/GreenMark/green_mark_criteria.html.

In collaboration with BCA, SGBC is organising a Green Mark clinic which will ease SGBC members into the adoption of the new GM RB: 2016 Criteria and be aware of the implementation timeline for this new criteria.  During the clinic, BCA will also address queries and provide clarifications on the interpretation of the new criteria as well as the scoring of bonus points (how certified products and solutions contribute to Green Mark projects). Other related areas of interest requested by participants will also be covered.

To provide participants with a productive a fruitful clinic, we invite you to provide your queries and requests using the attached Green Mark Clinic Info Request Form together with your registration.
